Pakistan’s Babar Azam was voted the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for April 2021 by fans and the ICC voting academy for his consistent and excellent performances in all formats in the recently concluded series against South Africa.

The ICC Player of the Month Awards, which recognize and honour the best achievements from both male and female cricketers in all formats of international cricket during the year, was revealed on Monday by the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Babar’s match-winning 82-ball 94 in the third One-Day International against South Africa helped him accumulate 13 rating points, taking his total to a career-high 865. In the third match of a T20I series against the same opposition, he scored 122 from 59 balls in Pakistan’s successful chase.

Ramiz Raja, representing the ICC Voting Academy, said of Azam’s success in April, “The world bats in two directions in white-ball cricket.” The Babar Azam way, like performing a batting symphony with punch, panache, and flair, is one way to smash attacks with muscle and power, and he deserves to receive this award.”
