After two days of uproar in the National Assembly, the Opposition has agreed to unanimously submit a no-confidence vote against Speaker Asad Qaiser.

When Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto met in the NA earlier today to discuss the way forward following yesterday’s session, they decided to file a no-confidence resolution against Qaiser.

In this sense, the united Opposition leaders decided to create a committee entrusted with bringing the proposal to the floor. The names of its members, on the other hand, are being considered.

The Speaker failed to fulfil his constitutional, legal, democratic, and parliamentary obligations, according to Opposition MPs, making Tuesday’s session the darkest day in the history of democracy.

One of the Opposition members stated, “Asad Qaiser is not qualified to execute this responsibility.”

The opposition sought the formation of a parliamentary committee with equal members from the Treasury and Opposition benches to investigate the commotion in parliament.
