On Wednesday, former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi was issued with a show-cause notice for threatening to hit National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser with a shoe during an assembly session. During the session, Khaqan Abbasi and the Speaker clashed over Abbasi’s turn to comment on the banned TLP’s appeal to expel the French Ambassador.

After being given seven days to apologize, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi claimed that he only wants forgiveness from Allah and no one else. On GEO News’ Capital Talk on Thursday night, he told anchorperson Hamid Mir that if he wants to speak on the subject, he challenges the Speaker to stop him and that the same thing will happen again.

When Mir interrupted him, he said, “You have been Prime Minister, how do you say such a thing?” “Are you going to throw a shoe?” “It would be worse than tossing a shoe,” Abbasi responded. He also mentioned that he has been nominated in two cases.
