Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif inaugurated Pakistan’s first virtual women police station, “MeriAwaz…Maryam Nawaz,” within the Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA). During the inauguration, she emphasized the significance of this initiative in providing women with a convenient and accessible way to seek assistance from law enforcement.
The Chief Minister stated that the virtual women police station would guide women through all stages of addressing a crime, from filing an FIR to its investigation and trial. She highlighted various channels through which women can contact the police, including the 15 Call, Women Safety App live chat feature, video call feature, Punjab Police App, and Safe City web portal.
Maryam Nawaz Sharif emphasized that all issues faced by women, including harassment, would be addressed on a priority basis in the virtual women police station. She stressed the importance of privacy and confidentiality, noting that women can share their problems without revealing their name and address.

Furthermore, the Chief Minister explained that the virtual women police station features a live video call feature, allowing women to communicate their problems, including their location, more effectively. Additionally, IT graduate women police communication officers have been appointed to facilitate women complainants in the virtual women police station.
In addition to the virtual women police station, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif announced the installation of 100 modern emergency panic buttons in Lahore. These panic buttons, installed in universities, colleges, markets, intersections, and bazaars, can be connected to the Safe City immediately by pressing them, providing a swift response to any emergency situation.
