Prime Minister Imran Khan praised the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on Saturday for achieving a 57 percent increase in revenue in April.
The premier wrote on Twitter, ‘I commend FBR efforts on achieving growth of 57% in April 2021 with collections recorded at Rs.384 billion n compared to Rs.240 billion in April 2020.’

Khan also stated that tax collections in Pakistan hit Rs3780 billion from July to April, which is 14% higher than the same time last year. He said, “Our policies have resulted in a broad-based economic recovery.”
After revising its revenue goal to Rs 4,693 billion for the fiscal year, Pakistan’s tax compliance agency now has to raise Rs911 billion in the remaining two months of the fiscal year 2020-21, according to the target.

The incumbent government had previously set a revenue target of Rs4,963 billion for the current fiscal year, but the International Monetary Fund required officials to lower it to Rs4,693 billion during its March review meeting.
