In the Twenty20 International format, veteran batsman Mohammad Hafeez has surpassed former captain Shoaib Malik as Pakistan’s top run-scorer.
To dethrone Malik, the 40-year-old required 13 runs, which he scored in the first T20I against South Africa, which the Green-shirts won by four wickets.
Pakistani batsman, 40, who goes by the nickname “Professor,” tweeted his admiration for his outstanding achievements: “Alhamdulillah. Allah is the best planner.”

Malik, 39 years old, has 2,335 runs in 116 T20Is, while Mohammad Hafeez, who has 2,336 runs in 100 matches, is in the fifth position globally, bringing Malik down to sixth.
With 3159 runs, India’s skipper Virat Kohli tops the list of highest scorers in the shortest style.
Following Shoaib Malik, Rohit Sharma, Martin Guptill, Eoin Morgan, and Ross Taylor, Hafeez became the sixth player to appear in 100 T20Is.
