Gunga Sain, a well-known dhol player, died in Lahore after suffering a cardiac arrest.
The world-famous dhol player rose to prominence after a powerful performance at the shrine of his “spiritual guide,” Baba Shah Jamal.
Gunga Sain will be laid to rest in Lahore’s Thokar Niaz Baig Cemetery, according to reports.
The Sufi drummer has played in many countries around the world, not just in Pakistan. In addition to receiving several international awards for his excellent performances, he introduced Sufi music to the United Kingdom, the United States, and Germany through his unusual and distinctive drumming style.
